$105,167.00/yr - $114,938.00/yr

Stretching from the Pilbara Region in the south to the Northern Territory border in the east, the Kimberley Region manages over 3,800,000 hectares of land and water on behalf of the Western Australian community. Visitor highlights include Purnululu, Windjana Gorge, Geikie Gorge and Tunnel Creek national parks, as well as world class marine-based experiences including Horizontal Falls and Montgomery Reef.
The region has two major workcentres: one in Broome which accommodates the regional office and West Kimberley District; the other in Kununurra (East Kimberley District).
We currently have an opportunity for an East Kimberley District Marine Park Coordinator to join our team.
Under the limited direction of the District Manager, you will:

* Be responsible for coordinating and participating in the implementation of the North Kimberley Marine Park Management Plans, other coastal conservation and management programs, and management of island reserves in the East Kimberley District.
* Work in collaboration with traditional owner partners to deliver on joint management agreements for the North Kimberley Marine Park, island reserves and jointly managed coastal areas.
* Ensure stakeholder and community involvement in marine protected area management, including undertaking an active role in the ongoing consultation.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following five (5) criteria in no more than four (4) pages in total.
* Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, marine conservation estate management; including developing and coordinating work plans and strategies, education, enforcement, research and monitoring, marine operations, familiarity with the principles of planning in the marine and coastal environment, and having knowledge of marine, coastal and island ecology.
* Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in effective liaison and negotiation at a senior level and demonstrated experience, knowledge, and skills in leading and managing staff including conducting employee development and performance management reviews, as appropriate.
* Demonstrated experience in, and knowledge of administrative and financial management, including project management, budget preparation and expenditure control, plus evidence of ability to compile and analyse information and data, and exercise sound judgement in decision-making.
* An ability and willingness to work with traditional owners to deliver native title aspirations and goals through joint management, cooperation, or collaborative arrangements.
* Demonstrated experience in coordinating and operating marine works programs in remote locations, with a high level of marine operations experience, overseeing the implementation of voyages of up to two weeks in length in remote locations, with a preference for a candidate with a Certificate of competency of Master up to 24 metres and Marine Engine Driver Grade 2.
