Emerald Carrying Company, a growing leader in transport and logistics, is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our Townsville workshop. In this hands-on role, you will service, maintain, and repair our modern Kenworth fleet to ensure reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
You will play a key role in minimising downtime, maintaining compliance, and keeping our fleet performing at its best. We offer a well-equipped workshop and a supportive team environment, and are looking for a proactive professional who values safety, quality workmanship, and high industry standards.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role will include (but not limited to) the following duties;
* Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance across our Kenworth fleet
* Carry out inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, and brake servicing
* Identify and report wear and tear issues before they lead to breakdowns
* Perform minor mechanical repairs and assist with more complex repairs as required
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safety-compliant workshop environment, adhering to all WHS requirements
* Accurately complete service sheets, maintenance records, and compliance documentation in line with NHVR and company standards
Roster
* 2 Week Rotating Roster
- Monday - Friday
- Tuesday to Saturday
* 6.00am - 4:00 pm daily
* On-Call rostered responsibilities every 5 weeks

Skills and Experience
* Trade qualifications in Automotive Mechanics (Heavy Road Transport) are essential with demonstrated work experience as a Mechanic
* Knowledge of Kenworth Trucks will be held in high regard
* Experience with the maintenance of fuel trucks and trailers (highly desirable)
* Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised whilst maintaining a safe work area
* Proven culture of safety, understanding hazard identification and risk assessment process
* Proactive approach to tasks and the ability to positively interact with customers
