About the Role
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist for a locum role working with young people and their families in the community. Commence asap until 17th October 2025. In this role, you will provide home-based therapy to young people experiencing an acute episode of mental illness. The program aims to avoid hospital admission. This role aligns with the National Standards for Mental Health Services and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in mental health care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive clinical services through tailored assessments, recovery-focused case management, trauma-informed care, and specialised therapies for young clients and their families
- Deliver evidence-based assessments and treatments for individuals with major and complex mental health conditions
- Actively participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.

About You
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Full AHPRA Registration
- Mental health experience preferred
- Client, service-orientated and more importantly, a 'people person'
- Active listener and critical thinking skills
- A strong ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures
- Demonstrated high standard of oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, time management and organisation to ensure effective teamwork
- Working with children check
- Eligible to work permanently in Australia
