Primary objective
Provide effective and efficient cross Agency information sharing and collaboration; high level data collection, analysis, and products to
support and inform cross-agency and cross-sector operations, strategic direction and decision making by governance and operational
groups to plan for the safety and wellbeing of children, families and communities.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Engage with government and non-government partners to gather and share information and undertake analysis to provide objective
advice that identifies thematical operational issues, strengths, trends and support needs to inform strategic direction and decision
making.
2. Liaise with operational groups to gather information that provides assurance whether legislative and policy objectives regarding Child
Wellbeing and Safety Partnerships are met.
3. Build and maintain effective networks and collaborative partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including
government and non-government organisations, Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
4. Monitor and support Government and non-Government partners to enhance participation in cross sector coordination to plan for the
provision of support to families to provide for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
5. Develop and maintain administrative and record keeping systems and provision of administrative support to governance groups.
6. Assist in fulfilling the Department’s obligations under the Emergency Management Act and as the Department responsible for Welfare
Group functions.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, family and community structures, and of issues affecting Aboriginal
people across the Northern Territory, including cultural, social, economic and political issues.
2. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective networks and collaborative partnerships with a range of internal and external
stakeholders, including Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
3. Demonstrated ability to research, collate, assess and synthesise information from a variety of sources, including the ability to analyse
and interpret data trends.
4. Demonstrated high level written and oral English communication skills with a proven ability to communicate and engage appropriately
and respectfully with a range of stakeholders, including with people for whom English is a second language; and prepare high level
correspondence, reports and presentations in a explicit and concise manner.
5. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, with proven ability to work under pressure, prioritise competing
requirements and meet critical deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
6. Knowledge of information sharing legislation, information privacy and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
7. Demonstrated experience in the use of computer applications and databases such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook or similar.
8. Preparedness to travel by 4WD vehicle and light plane and stay overnight in remote communities where applicable.
9. Hold a current Northern Territory Driver licence or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
