Base pay range: A$90,******/yr - A$120,******/yr
A leading national supplier of a wide range of
steel products
is seeking an experienced
External Account Manager
to manage and grow a strong portfolio of fabrication, engineering, and manufacturing customers. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out on the road, building genuine relationships, and driving territory growth.
The Role
You will oversee a mix of existing and prospective customers across the aluminium and steel supply sector, uncover new opportunities, and ensure consistent service delivery. Strong planning, commercial awareness, and customer engagement are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Grow revenue and margin across aluminium and steel accounts
Drive structured call cycles and planned client visits
Build strong relationships with key decision-makers
Capture customer intel, projects, and market activity in CRM
Manage customer-specific stock, supply requirements, and credit considerations
Follow up quotes, enquiries, and service issues promptly
Identify new leads across the territory and feed them to internal sales
About You
Experience in sales, procurement, customer service or account management within the steel supply industry e.g. aluminium, stainless steel, or industrial supply
Strong relationship builder with excellent negotiation skills
Organised, proactive, and commercially focused
Confident in identifying opportunities and converting them into sustainable business
