**About the role**:
The **Assistant Banquets Manager** supports Banquets Operations Manager and leads the overall food & beverage service operation of the hotel providing strong direction and motivation to the team. The Assistant Banquets Manager is the "face of Westin Perth", dedicated to provide the very best of Westin vibe and feel in every guest interaction. Service standards come naturally to this person and they are able to make standard interactions, special and memorable for the guests, every day, every time.
This role person has an exposure, influence and accountability for the cost structure, productivity, quality standards, Westin culture, and guest experience and talent engagement department.

**Duties**:
Assists Banquets Operations Manager, manages all event service, banquet and event technology operations and staff on a daily basis. Core area of responsibility is the event operation team. Position ensures the highest level of service throughout the event phase. Maximizes revenue opportunities by up-selling during the event phase and maximizes profit by effectively managing costs. The position is responsible for achieving guest and employee satisfaction and for managing the financial performance of the Event Operations Department.
**Skills & Experience**:
Your skills and experience will include:
- Excellent knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and high end service levels.
- Have good English communication skills both in written and spoken
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and problem solving skills.
- Competent with OPERA, MICROS Software or similar highly regarded
- Hold an approved manager certificate, current WA RSA and first aid certificate - desirable
- Organized with strong planning, good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure with a 'Can Do' attitude and a high level of energy
Essentially you will be a confident self-starter and enjoy working within a senior team, possess a proactive approach and demonstrate integrity and care for your team and the business. This is not a role for the light hearted - you must be prepared to dedicate yourself to the development of the concept and be able to give it your all to ensure its success
