**Day to day you will**:
- Partner with senior leaders to inspire a high-performing news team.
- Drive editorial excellence across bulletins, with a focus on the 6pm News.
- Oversee compelling news creation, balancing diverse local, national, and global stories.
- Script, subedit, and approve content for broadcast.
- Lead breaking and major news rolling coverage production.
- Manage daily newsroom operations with strong ethical and journalistic standards.
- Ensure accurate and legally compliant content.
- Foster creative reporting and the adoption of new storytelling technologies.
- Champion multiplatform content integration across digital, social, and traditional media.
- Lead and mentor the news team, cultivating a positive, inclusive culture with growth opportunities.
**Qualifications** What you'll bring**:
- Proven excellence in editorial judgment and news bulletin production.
- Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, legal standards, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing diverse teams.
- Solid knowledge of the digital landscape and its growing impact on news.
- Proven ability to innovate and create dynamic news bulletins.
