Coal Laboratory Technician Job Opportunity

* We are seeking a Casual Coal Laboratory Technician to join our team based at our Mayfield site in NSW.
The successful candidate will be required to work various shifts, including weekends, and must possess a valid driver's license. This role involves handling coal samples, processing them according to instructions, and conducting physical tests, including sample preparation and sizing.
* Key Responsibilities:
* • Handling coal samples and processing them according to instructions and current best methods
* • Loading and unloading coal samples from various plant streams
* • A range of physical tests, including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing, and sample storage
* • Transfer validated results into the reporting system
* • Calibration and maintenance of specialized equipment
Requirements:
* • Valid driver's license
* • Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
* • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
* • Ability to organize work, multitask, and meet tight deadlines
* • Ability to work independently without supervision
* • Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting
* • Competent within a strong safety culture
* • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems
* • Previous coal sampling experience would be an advantage but not essential
* • Flexible and able to perform shift work and weekend work as required
