To deliver on this new and exciting work, we are seeking skilled trades individuals to undertake long-term, world-leading training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, U.S.
Placements are available October 2025 and will be between?24 - 36 months in duration.
Responsibilities As a Trimmer/Upholsterer you will: Removal and fit-out of internal fixtures in the submarine.
Measuring laying and cutting fabric materials Reupholstering of chairs, table covers, door trims, navy racks etc Fabricate a variety of bespoke items such as tool bags, containment canopies, nuclear glove bags and other bespoke requirements.
Use of various hand and power/air tools.
Follow strict OH&S procedures.
Eligibility Criteria The successful applicant must possess: Australian Citizenship Minimum Certificate III in Upholstery 1-5 years' experience (desirable) An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance Additional Details During deployment, you will receive on the job training combined with instructor led classroom training.
This training program and work is carried out in accordance with company and US Navy processes and procedures.
At the completion of your deployment, you will?return to Western Australia (WA)?to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines.
Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.
