The Maxwell Underground Mine is a coal mine located in the Hunter Valley, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd.
This operation aims to produce up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. The mine targets high-quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team.
* Provide strategic leadership and direction for electrical engineering matters to meet or exceed performance requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner.
* Support the Engineering Manager in the timely provision of fit-for-purpose infrastructure, plant, and equipment, by providing technical input into and managing assigned procurement activities (e.g., tender and evaluation, project and contract management, and site inductions).
* E nsure that site electrical engineering activities are undertaken safely, in compliance with relevant statute requirements.
* Ensure that required availability, reliability, and performance are achieved to support the organization in achieving approved performance objectives.
* Develop a high-performance culture within the electrical engineering function through strong leadership, including appropriate communication, coaching, delegating, and performance management.

About You
* You must hold formal qualifications in Electrical Engineering (Advanced Diploma/Bachelor Degree)
* A practicing certificate (issued by the NSW Resources Regulator) for the function of Electrical Engineering Manager of UG Coal Mines (or in the process of obtaining the certification)
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in the underground coal mining industry
* Detailed knowledge of underground coal mining equipment
* Strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
