About us: Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (AODS) offers a comprehensive range of services across hospital, community and diversionary settings to respond to and assist in preventing harms related to the use of alcohol and other drugs. The service operates multidisciplinary teams that aim to provide a comprehensive evidence-based approach to assist in addressing the issues arising at an individual and community level from the use of alcohol and other drugs.
The AODS Cairns Service has sites in Cairns, Mossman, Mareeba and Innisfail. The Cairns AOD Service comprises two sites: 8 Aplin Street and Cairns North Community Health (Day Withdrawal Service).
About you:
In your new role you will……
* Provide effective communication, consultation and negotiation throughout the Day Withdrawal Service to ensure the involvement of stakeholders.
* Lead and coordinate quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities to ensure the provision of quality, cost-effective nursing services.
* Provide effective and efficient management of AODS Day Withdrawal Service in consultation and collaboration with relevant Team Leaders, Director of AODS and Assistant Clinical Director, clinical and non-clinical staff to facilitate the provision of quality evidence based AOD Day Withdrawal Services.
* Provide leadership to effectively plan, manage and evaluate specialist AOD Withdrawal Management Services as they relate to Day Withdrawal to achieve organisational goals.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will…..
* Provide input into the strategic and operational planning within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) AOD Service.
* Promote Day Withdrawal service development by strengthening inter-sectorial linkages, joint planning and the provision of relevant training, education and clinical consultation for the Health Service, carers and other community health providers such as General Practitioners.
* Ensure clinical practice is evidence based to facilitate positive patient outcomes.
