Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. You have a choice in where and how you work; we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals. 
What you’d be doing in this role 
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. This role provides a flavour of the work you’ll start with, but it will evolve over time. At the moment, this role is focused on: 
- Lead mixed-method research projects that shape the future of Canva’s content ecosystem by deeply understanding our users, their needs, and opportunities. 
- Apply qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze user and product data, translating insights into accessible, actionable stories through reports, presentations, and workshops. 
- Define and measure success for our content experiences, establishing a regular research cadence to track and improve the product over time. 
- Inform product and content strategies by identifying strategic opportunities and influencing decisions with data-driven insights. 
- Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, PMs, engineers, and content specialists to embed research in the heart of product development. 
- Champion research excellence by scaling Canva’s research culture: providing consultative guidance, sharing best practices, and contributing to sub-specialty projects. 
- Be an advocate for our users, inspiring change across the company by publicly sharing insights, building empathy, and driving impact on the Canva user experience. 
You're probably a match if 
- You have 4–6+ years of research experience, ideally in high-growth environments. 
- You’re confident across qualitative and quantitative methods, and know how to combine them for a holistic view. 
- You’ve led research end-to-end and influenced product and design decisions with your insights. 
- You’re a strong communicator and facilitator, making insights clear, actionable, and memorable. 
- You thrive in cross-functional teams, building strong relationships with PMs, designers, engineers, and content specialists. 
- You’re comfortable with ambiguity and big-picture challenges, bringing systems thinking and creative problem-solving. 
- You have a bias for action, balancing rigor with pragmatism in fast-moving environments. 
- You’re passionate about empowering people to create and designing for meaningful impact.

We’re part of the Content Group within the Content & Discovery Supergroup. Our mission is to provide world-class, diverse, and high-impact content that inspires creativity for every Canva user. From templates to photos, icons, video and more — we help turn a blank page into an idea, and ideas into incredible designs. 
We’re a team of designers, product managers, engineers, and researchers who work across Canva’s entire content experience — and we’re deeply driven by user insights. We believe in creativity through collaboration, and we're building a content ecosystem that truly empowers the world to design.
