This position will provide quality SQL database administration services in support of front-line services for Queensland Corrective Services. Reporting to the Manager, Business Systems and Applications, the role will support key operational database technologies and ensure that all business application database environments are running efficiently and securely.
In This Role You Will:
* Optimize production databases and database management systems to operate efficiently and effectively.
* Ensure successful operation and management of databases, applications, and information sources on behalf of client groups, particularly in relation to innovation, service level agreements, flexibility, cost, and performance.
* Perform performance monitoring and reporting, including complex problem solving as required.
* Design, develop, and manage system and database upgrade plans and changes through liaison with both internal and external stakeholders in line with corporate change management policies.
* Perform design, development, and implementation of enhancements to existing strategic information systems and new information systems as required.
* Design, implement, document, and manage backup and restore processes.
* Document database environments and related systems, formulating procedures and support materials to assist in efficient Data Centre operations.
* Design, develop, and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans in line with business service level agreements.
* Analyze, design, and document client requirements for IT projects and initiatives as required.
* Provide expert troubleshooting and problem resolution for database issues, supporting technical teams and application administrators.
* Collaborate with IT teams, developers, and management, providing leadership and guidance on database matters.
* Lead and mentor a team of database administrators, including task delegation.
