Job Description:
The role of a Supercomputing Data Service Manager involves overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of data management systems and services across the supercomputing program. This includes managing petabytes to exabytes of data in accordance with Defence Science Technology Group (DSTG) Data Management Framework, International and Australian standards, and Defence security requirements for classified data.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the lead data management subject matter expert (SME) to the Supercomputing Systems team by utilising extensive data infrastructure and data services experience;
2. Accountable for managing and leading a team of data management service experts, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding development;
3. Use significant judgemental skill to plan and perform complex system administration duties towards broad supercomputing objectives;
