From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.About UsMoneycare Program is part of the Community Support Service network of programs and related services which aim to alleviate financial hardship by supporting those who are in hardship due to financial difficulties or crises, by gaining the increased capability to act independently and self-sufficiently.Primary Purpose Of The RoleWe are seeking a values-driven and dedicated Financial Capability Worker, who will sit under the mentorship of the Financial Counsellor to provide Financial Capability services that help eligible people to build longer-term capability to plan and make informed choices about their money in the future. As a Financial Capability worker, you will learn to deliver non-accredited financial education workshops to eligible people, and you will support eligible people with employment readiness through improving financial knowledge, skills, and capabilities to assist them to achieve employment.What a Day In The Life Will Look LikeDeliver financial education workshops with a strong focus on supporting people to build longer-term capability by developing skills to plan for their financial futureAssist community members to access other support services and establish community supports if applicableRespect and value each person by focusing on individual needs, considering all parts of life, building strong relationships, and supporting independence and participation without judgment.Work together with community members to build strong relationships and provide the best service.Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and data for all community members in accordance with The Salvation Army standards and procedures.Include community feedback and encourage individual input and participation in team efforts and review processes for continuous quality improvement.What You Will BringFinancial Literacy Education Skill Set or willingness to obtain it is desirableExperience working with people who may not have English as a first languageKnowledge of local Aboriginal Communities, Culture, and connection to mobDemonstrated ability to work with people experiencing difficulties and crisesAboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identityA national police record check is requiredRelevant state Working With Children Check is requiredCurrent Driver’s licence (if travel is required)Some intrastate travel associated with outreach services may be requiredAdditional NotesThis position is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only, as TSA considers that being Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for the position in accordance with the 'Anti-Discrimination Act 1992 s.35(b) (NT).What Benefits You Will ReceiveEligibility for NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax-free) plus meals and entertainment benefitsEmployee Assistance Program - Confidential counselling serviceFinancial, retail, and lifestyle discounts and benefitsDiscounted health and fitness programs through Fitness PassportUp to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave schemeGenerous Parental Leave of 12 weeksUp to 5 days paid leave per year to support TSA programs or activitiesAn inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate, and professional team membersOpportunities to positively impact the lives of others through your career contributionThe Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer that provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.
