We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team within the Sub-Acute Older Persons Mental Health Unit.
The unit provides specialised, recovery-focused care for older adults with complex mental health needs, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being.
As an Occupational Therapist in the Sub-Acute Older Persons Mental Health Unit, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support the rehabilitation and recovery of older adults experiencing mental health challenges.
Your Opportunity
The purpose of this role is to deliver occupational therapy clinical services within Subacute Older Persons Mental Health Service.
This includes:
Detailed clinical assessment, patient education, therapeutic intervention and/or management and assistance with discharge planning within an interprofessional context.
Clinical education, supervision of observational students and allied health assistants, and assistance with supervision of undergraduate students.
Participation and contribution to quality improvement and research activities under the guidance of senior staff.
What we're looking for
Demonstrated ability to provide high quality, efficient, patient centered and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and management to patients in Subacute Older Persons Mental Health Service.
Demonstrated ability to use high quality verbal and written communication to work co-operatively within the interprofessional team to achieve the best patient centered outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities.
Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and skills to participate in the clinical education and training of students.
Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and skills to participate in the initiation, planning and evaluation of local service development initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution as an Occupational Therapist and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.

Our offer: You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $132,567 p.a., comprising salary between $79,051 - $116,189 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to *****%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.) (Applications will remain current for 12 months).
