Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and community-minded professional to help build the future of Indigenous tourism in the region.
* Drive the growth of Indigenous tourism initiatives.
* Establish trusted relationships with Indigenous people and stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, and businesses.
* Serve as the interface between Indigenous peoples/businesses and government for the commercial development of Indigenous tourism experiences.
This role requires strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and experience in mentoring small businesses.
The ideal candidate will have a background in tourism, business development, and commercialisation, as well as high-level governance, administrative, and reporting skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Foster economic development through strategic partnerships and cross-cultural collaboration.
* Cultivate a culturally sensitive approach to the commercialisation of culture.
* Promote Indigenous tourism success stories and develop case studies.
* Contribute to program development and delivery, focusing on business development for Indigenous tourism operators and experiences.
* Provide timely briefings, reports, and presentations on tourism policy and program issues.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Strong background in tourism, business development, and commercialisation.
* High-level governance, administrative, and reporting skills.
* Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including First Nations elders, native title bodies, local government, councils, and tourism operators.
* Financial literacy and experience mentoring or supporting small businesses.
* Cultural sensitivity and ability to facilitate strategic partnerships and cross-cultural collaboration.
