Our valued client, West Coast Rewind - based in Malaga WA – is an innovative and professional Electro-Mechanical business established over 25 years. They are looking for ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING TECHNICIANS to join their team of professionals on a fulltime and permanent basis. Position Description & Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the inspection, dismantling, and fault analysis of electric motors, generators, transformers, and similar equipment. Support motor rewind operations by documenting coil data, winding diagrams, and insulation specifications. Conduct electrical and performance testing (e.g. surge, hipot, resistance, no-load tests) on motors and components. Assist in the design and setup of test benches and control systems for repaired or rewound motors. Maintain detailed service and test records for all equipment worked on. Coordinate with engineers and workshop personnel to ensure repair procedures meet electrical and safety standards.
Qualifications
In-depth experience with Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or a related field. Knowledge of electric motor construction, operation, and rewinding techniques. Experience using AutoCAD or similar drafting tools. Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and surge testers. Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Desirable experience: Hands‐on experience in a motor rewind or electrical repair workshop. Knowledge of VFDs, soft starters, or motor control circuits. Familiarity with standards from EASA related to motor repair and testing.
Work Environment
Workshop and test lab setting. Occasional on‐site motor testing, removal, or installation at client facilities. Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols is required.
Salary: Between $75,000 and $80,000 per annum + Super
