Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated librarian to join our team in a pivotal role. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of physical and digital collections, ensuring they remain relevant, accessible, and engaging for our diverse community.
The Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain physical and digital collections
* Contribute to the smooth operation of our Library Management System (LMS)
* Support customer service team and build digital literacy capacity
* Model exceptional customer service and resolve technical issues
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven understanding and experience in library collection development including stock selection, purchasing, cataloguing and weeding processes
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Library Management software (preferably SIRSI) including systems maintenance, statistical reporting, database maintenance and troubleshooting
* Excellent communication and customer service skills with a focus on providing positive interactions with library services, programs and staff
* Degree qualification in library and information management or proven experience in a public library environment
