About the role

Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager and based onsite at the corporate office in Homebush West, you will be an integral part of the Financial Reporting team contributing to statutory reporting, disclosure preparation and ongoing compliance with relevant accounting standards.

You will;

* Assist in the preparation of the half‐year report and annual report of Harvey Norman Holdings Limited to an external release standard.
* Assist in the preparation of note disclosures in the half‐year report and the annual report of Harvey Norman Holdings Limited.
* Prepare technical accounting papers by interpreting and applying relevant accounting standards.
* Maintain lease records and prepare accurate monthly lease accounting journals using external lease accounting software for all controlled entities.
* Prepare financial reports and supporting work papers to the Audit & Risk Committee.
* Review monthly financial statements of wholly owned subsidiaries for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness of period movements.
* Assist in managing the half‐year review and year‐end audit process with the external auditors.
* Prepare and review monthly consolidation journals.
* Prepare and maintain monthly joint venture cashbooks, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all joint venture transactions.
* Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, analysis and commentary for distribution and review at monthly board meetings.
* Liaise with other business units within the corporate office to provide accounting advice and support.
* Contribute to finance transformation and new accounting system development.

About you

You will bring proven experience working within a Chartered accounting environment, along with demonstrated capability in reviewing complex financial statements and financial reports for large publicly listed clients and delivering financial reporting within a large publicly listed organisation.

You will also have;

* An accounting degree combined with a CA qualification with a minimum of 3 years post‐qualification experience.
* Prior experience with SAP S/4HANA general ledger system is preferred.
* Excellent knowledge of accounting standards.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Organisational and time‐management skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities.
* Excellent Microsoft Office software skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
