Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Clinical Governance This role can be located in Melbourne or Sydney Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for the strategic, clinical, and operational leadership of nursing, allied health services and leadership of the clinical governance system across the 22 Nexus hospitals. Duties and responsibilities: Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care in alignment with regulatory standards and organisational objectives Provide strategic direction for nursing and clinical services Lead the clinical governance framework, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and licensing standards Lead the continuous development of the nursing and clinical workforce; provide mentorship and professional development to General Managers / Directors of Nursing and other senior nursing staff Participate as a key executive leader in corporate governance structures, contributing to board reports, organisational reviews, and strategic planning Provide expert nursing and clinical advice to the CEO and Nexus Board Monitor clinical performance indicators and lead quality improvement initiatives Work collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer, members of the leadership team and clinicians to drive continuous improvement and measurable high quality outcomes and experience for patients About You: You are a natural collaborator, work effectively with all stakeholders, and are ambitious and determined. You have proven experience in clinical leadership and sound knowledge of the private healthcare industry. To be successful in this role you will have a strong nursing background, and have the ability to work autonomously whilst maintaining a ‘one team’ approach. In addition, you will offer: Experience as a Registered Nurse with a current AHPRA registration Postgraduate qualifications in health management or nursing leadership ideally at Masters level Proven experience in clinical governance and quality improvement Ability to lead change and innovation in a clinical setting A proven record of empowering nurse leaders to deliver excellence Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data driven decisions Strong knowledge of clinical governance frameworks Culture and Benefits: At Nexus, caring for our people, patients and employees is at the centre of everything we do.
