Position Description
We seek an experienced and motivating professional to join our team. You will be responsible for providing evidence-based nursing care to residents or clients, in accordance with care plans developed collaboratively with the resident or client, their medical officer, and other healthcare team members.
This position currently offers 3 shifts per week, 4 hours per shift, totaling 12 hours per week.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Medication pack checking against deliveries and prescriptions
2. Scheduling prescriptions for individual residents
3. Administering injections onsite for residents
4. Liaising with pharmacists to ensure medications are in order, records are accurate, and compliant
5. Documenting and maintaining records to meet compliance requirements
6. Ensuring SSR compliance and participating in visits
7. Adhering to SRS Act and Regulations
8. Participating in NDIS internal and external audits
9. Assisting in updating and modifying Company Policies and Procedures as needed
10. Managing wound care when required
11. Developing and maintaining effective relationships with residents, their families or carers, and healthcare team members
12. Supporting the care team to ensure care is delivered within scope of practice, evidence-based, safe, and high quality, in line with policies and protocols
13. Maintaining practice within legislative, national, and state policy frameworks
14. Ensuring clients’ privacy, dignity, and respect are upheld at all times
15. Understanding, complying with, and adhering to Sherwood Care policies and procedures
16. Supporting a culture of performance improvement and evaluation
17. Prioritizing projects effectively and meeting deadlines
18. Acting quickly and responsibly in emergencies
Skills & Experiences
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:
* Enrolled Nurse registration with current national registration (note any exceptions)
* Current national Police Check with no disclosable outcomes
* Working with Children Check
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Current First Aid Certificate and CPR certification
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in software applications
* Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice
* Competence in delivering safe services ensuring client and resident safety
* Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Ability to support Disability Support Workers
* Relevant experience in aged care, acute medical, or urgent nursing
* Solid nursing knowledge and experience
* High level of confidentiality and discretion
