Research Associate - Novel Catalysts and Electrolytes

About the Role
* Conduct independent research projects under the guidance of a senior researcher, with a focus on enhancing the quality of research outcomes in the discipline area.
* Undertake specific research projects, including synthesising, prototyping, and scaled-up demonstration of novel catalysts and electrolytes.
* Assess key metrics of efficiency and durability, relating these to product performance and life cycle cost.
* Develop relevant experiments under schedule constraints.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to collaborative research, working independently or as part of a team.
* Conduct research and enable research teams to create scholarly output recognised by peers.
* Support the dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets.
* Prepare and maintain experimental materials, equipment, and data.
* Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
* Prototype electrochemical devices based on research results.
* Undertake additional research responsibilities within the field of expertise.
* Actively apply for external grants and fellowships with supervisor support.
* Assist with lab management, including instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and contacting service providers when required.
Requirements
* PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
* Demonstrated prior research experience in electrocatalysis for electrochemical conversion (CRR, OER, HER, ORR).
* Demonstrated expertise in material synthesis and material characterisation.
* Demonstrated experience in conducting a research project, including experiment design, data collection, and record keeping, and coordinating the efforts of a large multidisciplinary team.
