They underpin how we go about performing our roles and activities everyday when we are at work and representing the Strait Link business.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a someone (trade qualified preferred but not essential) who has experience as a Welder to join our team located in Burnie Tasmania.This role will see you being responsible for repairs and maintenance of transport equipment and shipping line equipment, fabrication and some site work.Desired Skills and ExperiencePrimary Duties and Responsibilities:Some of the duties and responsibilities may include the following:Carry our all instructions within set timeframesAlways work in a safe mannerComplete time sheets and relevant work sheets.Complete repairsand maintenance as directedReport all damages, faulty equipment and/or accidentsParticipate in OH&S & OH&S Toolbox meetingsSound knowledge f welding and workshop practicesStrong service orientationUnderstanding of requirements for handling dangerous goodsCompetent in the use of MIG welding techniquesCompetent in using oxy and acetylene equipment and in the use of hand and powered toolsSound understanding in the concept of providing a service to clients in a third part contracted logisticsAbout you:Good communications skills, both verbal and writtenBeing a team playerWillingness to learnWelding certificates or undertaking of a Welding course (preferred)Licenses: Car.What we offer:Permanent Full-Time positionSafe and supportive work environmentOpportunity for career progressionIf you feel you have any of the above or more in line with the role, please feel free to apply.
