Senior Solution & Data Architect (Data Vault 2.0 / Snowflake exp)
Milestone IT is partnering with a major enterprise client to secure a highly accomplished, versatile Senior Solution & Data Architect. In this pivotal role, you will lead end‐to‐end design, technical solutioning, and strategic data roadmaps across modern data ecosystems. You will step into a complex environment to architect scalable Data Vault 2.0 and Medallion platforms, integrate massive volumes of data from disparate source systems, and build robust proof‐of‐concept pipelines that empower advanced enterprise analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities & Recent Deliverables
* Enterprise Integration Roadmapping: Map technical roadmaps to consolidate and integrate massive numbers of disparate source systems (over 120+) using modern Medallion architecture.
* Alternative Solution Evaluation: Assess complex solution alternatives to design and build conformed, de‐duplicated data layers. You will champion app integration leveraging REST APIs, data orchestration, and cloud‐native catalogs.
* Proof‐of‐Concept & MVP Delivery: Architect and deliver robust Proof‐of‐Concept (POC) and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) pipelines. This includes bridging the gap between legacy environments (e.g., IBM Mainframe/DB2) and modern data clouds to fuel platform analytics and modern BI reporting tools.
* End‐to‐End Data Vault Design: Design and deploy comprehensive enterprise Data Vaults (incorporating Staging, Raw, and Business Vault layers) to manage hundreds of source tables, master data management (MDM), and complex domain data types.
* Agile Collaboration: Lead data engineering/modelling sprints within multi‐functional Agile teams, actively managing JIRA epics and user stories to hit aggressive delivery milestones.
What We Are Looking For
* Certifications (Mandatory): Certified Data Vault 2.0 Modeller. Certified TOGAF Architect and/or Snowflake SnowPro certifications are highly regarded.
* Technical Mastery: Deep hands‐on expertise in logical, conceptual, and physical data modelling (CDM/LDM/PDM) utilizing tools like ERWIN, SAP Power Designer, or SQL DBM.
* The Modern Data Stack: Strong engineering familiarity across Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
* Legacy & App Integration: Proven ability to navigate REST APIs, JSON, and extract value from traditional relational or mainframe structures (e.g., DB2, SQL Server, Oracle).
* Sector Background: Success in delivering scalable architectures within heavily regulated sectors such as Government, Law Enforcement, Banking, Superannuation, or Utilities.
* Communication & GRC: Exceptional stakeholder management, active listening skills, and a solid background in handling data governance and compliance requirements.
