Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, the Field Service Plant Mechanic will join our Bunbury department on a full-time, permanent basis supporting customers in and around the Southwest region. This role will cover all aspects of Caterpillar fleet maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics, including warranty support for customers.

WesTrac Bunbury provides adaptable Caterpillar solutions from Mandurah to Albany. Our technicians handle diverse machinery, offering services, rebuilds, deliveries, and overhauls.
Location: Southwest Region / Bunbury
Roster:
9 Days on, 5 Days Off – 10.5 hours each day (including 30 mins meal break)
8 Days on, 6 Days Off – 10.5 hours each day (including 30 mins meal break)
What You’ll Do:
1. Visit customer sites to diagnose faults on Caterpillar equipment
2. Carry out repairs, maintenance, and servicing of mining and marine machinery
3. Manage work orders and warranty support
4. Implement Product Improvement Plans and Product Support Programs
5. Maintain a safe work environment
6. Assist the Customer to achieve machine availability and reliability KPIs
Skills & Experience:
1. Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate with similar post-trade experience
2. Valid Australian Driver’s License and LR license (minimum)
3. High Risk Work Licence (e.g., LF, DG, WP, WAH)
4. Refrigerant Handling License (preferred but not essential)
5. Proficient in diagnostic and fault-finding skills through CAT SIS & CAT ET
6. Strong commitment to continuous improvement principles
7. Ability to work under pressure in isolated and remote environments
