A well established and dynamic ENT practice located in the upper north shore is seeking a Practice Nurse in a part time position commencing in January. The practice has a focus on hearing and balance disorders and prides itself on working in a multidisciplinary, collaborative setting with a focus on delivering excellence patient centered care and providing a positive work environment.
The position involves displaying a high level of leadership in day to day operational and management under the principal of the practice with an opportunity to train in specialist care for hearing impaired and dizzy patients.
The role is based in the upper north shore but may require occasional travel to Newtown.
Hours:8-6 pm Mondays, Wednesday and Thursday
Key Responsibilities:
· Co-ordinating operating theatre bookings, pre-operative and post-operative bookings, triaging patient's concerns with doctors
· Ensuring the delivery and standard of the organization's processes and procedures are maintained at a high standard
· Management and ongoing training of staff
· Nurturing and developing strong relationships with healthcare professionals
· Creating a positive culture.
Essential Criteria:
· Must have at least 2 years' experience working in a surgical practice with at least 6 months experience working as a nurse.
· Ability to learn new specialty specific knowledge and skills
· Excellent Communication skills and ability to work in a team
· Experience in managing accounts, booking and billings and liaising with health funds and Medicare in this regards
· Must display sensitivity dealing with patients and maintain confidentiality at all times
· A calm demeanour, excellent organisational skills with a focus on providing highest quality care to patients and liaising with other hospital and medical staff.
· An ability to manage deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances and communicate those changes in a team
· Excellent computer skills and experience with Mac, Windows, word and excel
Desirable Criteria:
· Experience working in an ENT practice
· Experience with Genie Medical Software would be greatly advantageous
· Medical typing skills would also be greatly advantageous
· Experience with vestibular disorders and cochlear implants
· Experience with Genie software
Commencement date:
The Position commences in January 2026 or as soon as the right candidate is found.
Remuneration:
Salary will depend on experience and ability in the range of $38-45 per hour exclusive of super.
