The Food and Beverage Kitchen Supervisor contributes to the achievement of the team by ensuring the smooth operations of all locations in collaboration with the Food and Beverage Management team.
This role requires a high level of customer interaction, staff leadership, staff training, food services and delegation. You will require good interpersonal and communication skills.
You are required to oversee all staff in their sections and make sure they keep the section clean and presentable at all times.
Duties Include:
* Oversee food preparation and assembly processes to maintain consistent quality across all menu items.
* Conduct regular quality checks and provide feedback to team members to uphold our high-quality standards.
* Enforce cleanliness protocols and standards in the kitchen, including equipment maintenance, sanitation, and waste management.
* Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with cleanliness and hygiene standards.
* Monitor inventory levels and food costs to optimise profitability, including minimising waste and controlling expenses.
* Implement efficiency measures and productivity enhancements to contribute to the financial success of our operations.
* Set par levels for the team to ensure they are prepared for service and to minimise spoilage,
* Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service, handling customer inquiries or issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Train and coach team members on effective customer service techniques and standards.
* Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, cooking, and temperature control.
* Conduct regular training sessions on food safety practices and ensure team members are up to date with regulations.
* Foster a positive and inclusive team culture by promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication among team members.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to kitchen staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Essential Criteria:
* Hold current Driver's Licence.
* Available to work weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
* Experience in a similar role and long term commitment to Australia Zoo.
* Responsible Service of Alcohol (QLD).
