Role Description
The Commercial Manager – Events & Sponsorships is responsible for the commercial performance and delivery of Energy Networks Australia's (ENA's) events portfolio, with a primary focus on sponsorship, exhibition and partnership revenue, alongside high‐quality event execution.
The role leads sponsorship strategy and sales across ENA's flagship conference and exhibition, annual dinner, seminars and other events, while also overseeing event logistics, supplier management and operational delivery.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring ENA events are commercially successful, professionally delivered and valued by sponsors, partners and delegates.
Event Planning & Delivery
* Coordinate and manage the logistics and delivery of ENA events, including the biennial conference and exhibition, seminar series and other events as required.
* Manage the ENA events calendar and critical delivery milestones.
* Manage key agency partners, typically an events management company and a sponsorship company.
* Liaise with venues, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
* Oversee event registration systems, data management and payments.
* Develop and deliver a commercial strategy for ENA events, sponsorships and exhibitions.
* Set and manage sponsorship and exhibition revenue targets, pricing and KPIs.
* Identify and develop new sponsorship products, packages and commercial opportunities.
* Manage sponsorship budgets, forecasting and commercial reporting.
Sponsorship & Exhibitor Management
* Lead the end‐to‐end sponsorship and exhibition lifecycle, from prospecting and proposals through to contracting, delivery and renewal.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, exhibitors and commercial partners.
* Ensure sponsorship entitlements are clearly defined, delivered and evaluated for value and return on investment.
* Act as the senior point of contact for key sponsors and exhibitors.

* Demonstrated experience in events management combined with sponsorship, partnerships or commercial roles.
* Proven ability to manage sponsorship or exhibition revenue and commercial targets.
* Strong organisational and project management skills with high attention to detail.
* Well‐developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience managing suppliers, venues and external partners.
* High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and event platforms such as EventsAir and/or Aventri.
* Experience delivering large‐scale conferences, exhibitions or industry events.
* Familiarity with sponsorship management tools.
* Experience working in a corporate, government or industry association environment.
