Strategic Planning Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Planning Specialist to contribute to the development of strategic plans, structure plans, guidelines and planning policies that reflect our community's aspirations.
* About the Role:
* This role is focused on managing planning projects, providing contemporary strategic planning advice, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to guide the city's long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Preparing and implementing strategic plans, guidelines, policies and planning projects.
2. Managing and processing planning scheme amendments in line with legislation.
3. Providing expert strategic planning advice to internal teams, Councillors, external partners and the community.
4. Leading procurement and managing consultant contracts, project timelines and deliverables.
5. Undertaking research, analysis and community engagement to support evidence-based recommendations.
6. Preparing Council reports, project briefs, funding submissions and other key documents.
7. P Presenting to Council, stakeholders and the community.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have strong knowledge of strategic planning principles, planning scheme amendments and relevant legislation. You should also possess:
* Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline.
* Strong understanding of planning scheme amendment processes.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven project management experience.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Ability to work independently while contributing positively to team culture.
