Job Summary
The Infection Prevention & Control Specialist plays a pivotal role in implementing strategies to minimize infection risks and promote effective prevention practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, evaluate and report on key IPC activities to meet local, state and national protocols and guidelines.
* Conduct thorough assessments of staff immunization status, surveillance, investigations and process audits, with regular reporting and feedback.
* Provide expert leadership and guidance on patient management and organizational IPC risks, including outbreak and contact tracing events.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* AHPRA Registration (mandatory)
* Nurse Immunizer and/or Hand Hygiene auditor endorsements (desired)
* Excellent analytical, communication, coordination and time management skills
* Highly developed computer skills, including MS Office and hospital information systems
