Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be working in a District role with staff from all palliative care sites including acute hospitals, palliative care units and community health and will network with external organisations including SWS PHN and HammondCare (Braeside). The role provides opportunities to develop health promotion projects with services such as multicultural health, local councils and Aboriginal health, using innovative health‐promoting and community‐development principles regarding palliative care.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a highly organised and detail‐oriented individual with strong active listening skills and a solid understanding of public health approaches. The ideal candidate will bring relevant knowledge and experience in public health, demonstrating the ability to plan, prioritise and manage tasks effectively. They will be confident working with people from diverse backgrounds, including varying languages, cultures, ages and roles across both staff and community settings. A collaborative mindset and the ability to engage respectfully and inclusively with others are essential for success in this role.
Selection Criteria
* Tertiary qualifications in social science, health or a related field.
* Describe your experience and skills in health promotion.
* Explain how you would apply health promotion or public health approaches to palliative care and end of life.
* Outline your experience in delivering projects or campaigns for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's licence (including P1 or P2). Those holding a C-class licence from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C-class licence within three months of appointment. Learner's licences are not permitted.
