Casual retail assistant (fitzroy)

Hi! we're seeking a friendly, kind and reliable retail assistant to join the Goldies team! Goldies is a children's shop that has recently opened on Gertrude street, Fitzroy. We are a fun concept store for you and the kids in your life. Specialising in small run children's brands and curated gifts for grownups. Maybe you are a mum and looking for a few days a week in a fun space? or just looking for casual work. I would also be looking for someone who has availability throughout the school holidays and Christmas period and who would be interested in working some extra days/hours if needed. This role is for Wednesday's and Friday's! 10.30-4.30pm.

• Greet customers in the shop in a friendly manner but not overbearing.
• Manage customer orders – pop orders through on the Shopify system, neatly wrap them in tissue and place in a bag.
• Maintain store neatness and cleanliness, ensuring everything is organised and looking lovely and fresh for customers.
• Collaborate on in-store merchandising.
• Check inventory on Shopify and restock floor stock as needed.
• Invite customers to join the mailing list, add them to the database when they purchase and maintain the database.
• Post social media content throughout the day, if possible.
• Work independently – the store is small, so you will be working by yourself most of the time.

• Minimum 2+ years retail experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of the brands we stock would be a huge plus.
• Solid organisational and multitasking skills.
• Experience with social media and Shopify is a strong plus.
• Background in fashion, business or marketing is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Job type: Casual.
• Pay: $32.80 per hour.
• Expected hours: 6 - 12 per week.
• Schedule: Day shift on Wednesdays and Fridays, 10.30 – 4.30pm.

• Point of Sale (POS) software: 2 years (preferred).
• Working towards sales targets and KPIs: 2 years (preferred).Customer service: 2 years (preferred).

Work authorisation: Australia (preferred).

Work location: In person.
