About the Position
This Nursing position plays a critical part in ensuring the safe collection of blood products from generous donors. You will be responsible for assessing donor eligibility, conducting routine health checks, and safely collecting blood components.
* Greet and assess potential donors to determine their suitability for donation
* Conduct essential blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
* Prepare equipment, tubing, and collection bags
* Insert and remove needles with care to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
You will work collaboratively with other team members to deliver an exceptional donor experience. Your excellent communication skills and dedication to providing outstanding service will be highly valued.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Frequently stand, walk, and bend to set up and pack down equipment and blood products
* Occasionally lift between 9-22.7 kg
* Hold a current registration with AHPRA and possess a Diploma of Nursing or equivalent qualification
