About The Role
An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Villawood, working either the 6:00am–2:00pm or 2:00pm–10:00pm shift.
Your role is responsible for providing effective support in the preventative maintenance and repair of the production line, ensuring the achievement of factory production targets.
Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, you will form part of the maintenance team and will be responsible for:
* Understand the full manufacturing process and product quality requirements to identify critical equipment and processes.
* Troubleshoot plant and equipment issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
* Apply fine tolerances when fitting bearings, gears, seals, punches, and extrusion die assemblies.
* Complete all work to required specifications, ensuring documentation is accurate and on time.
* Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings with confidence.
* Inspect, analyse, and record critical mechanical data during preventative maintenance, including wear, damage, and comparisons to standard drawings.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, inspecting equipment prior to use.
* Manage maintenance tasks by correctly storing spare parts and creating work orders for urgent repairs.
What You Bring To The Role
* Mechanical trade licence or similar (Fitter/turner, Boilermaker, Plant mechanic, HV Diesel Mechanic) that has previous experience as a Fitter within a manufacturing environment.
* Previous exposure within industrial manufacturing with routine & breakdown experience.
* Confined spaces, WAH, EWP, Forklift licence and D&R licence is highly desirable.
* Strong commitment to safety, consistently applying WHSE practices.
* SAP maintenance system proficiency would be advantageous; training will be provided as required.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A hands‐on attitude, strong problem‐solving skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
