General Practitioner Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled General Practitioner to join our team in East Arnhem Land. This unique opportunity allows you to grow as a GP while delivering vital healthcare services to the community.
The Role
* Provide acute care and manage chronic conditions in community settings, utilising your clinical skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on patient outcomes.
* Deliver health education to Aboriginal Health Practitioners and community members, promoting cultural sensitivity and awareness.
* Participate in health promotion, research, and public health initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative solutions to address health disparities.
* Contribute to improving systems of care and health outcomes for Aboriginal people, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal results.
* Build lasting relationships with patients, families, and community leaders, fostering trust and understanding through empathetic and person-centred care.
Training & Supervision
* Work under the guidance of experienced GPs and the Director of Medical Services, receiving mentorship and structured supervision to support your professional growth.
* Develop skills in Aboriginal health, paediatrics, chronic disease, emergency care, and remote practice, enhancing your expertise and confidence in a diverse range of clinical settings.
* Gain hands-on experience in Communicare, CARPA guidelines, and Medicare processes, staying up-to-date with the latest best practices and regulations.
Collaboration
* Internal teams: Clinic Managers, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Midwives, and Coordinators (e.g. Child Health, Chronic Disease), working together to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care.
* External partners: Gove District Hospital, NT Health, pathology/radiology providers, and visiting specialists, collaborating to achieve shared goals and improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
* Be registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Hold or be eligible for Fellowship (FRACGP or FACRRM) with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or the Faculty of Australasian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
