Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Job Description
As the CHPP Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will be required to use your trade background and leadership skills to lead and develop the people, processes, and systems to carry out maintenance activities within the CHPP safely, efficiently, and effectively.
You will work closely with the broader CHPP team, playing a crucial role in maintaining equipment reliability and availability by ensuring that work is executed as planned and that emergent work is prioritised to maintain operational capabilities, in an efficient and effective manner.
Reporting to the CHPP Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring the reliability and availability of equipment through scheduled maintenance work
* Executing plans to ensure work is prioritised to maintain operational capabilities
* Working independently with limited direction
* Engaging and influencing peers/external providers
* Delivering high quality work with tight timeframes, through self-motivation and drive
Qualifications
* Relevant Trade or Engineering background (mechanical or electrical trade)
* Experience in CHPP or Processing Plant Operations (or similar)
* S123 and G2
* Knowledge of Coal Mining Safety and Health Act & legislation and its application in the workplace
* Acquired computer software skills including Microsoft Suite (project, excel, word, power point etc) and Maintenance Management Systems (SAP or similar )
* Ability to multi-task and coordinate various projects
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
* Strong safety focus with a demonstrated ability to promote and encourage safety
* General interest in being a team-oriented player, who will seek to raise the skill level of colleagues
* Attention to detail and ability to follow process
* Ability to accept new ideas and embrace change
