Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Senior Contracts Administrator will lead the implementation of advanced commercial practices, encompassing legal, compliance, insurance, procurement, cost control, contract and project administration, and reporting activities for assigned projects. The Senior Contracts Administrator will ensure that all commercial and legal aspects of the project are executed with precision and that contractual requirements are rigorously adhered to. A primary responsibility includes the strategic management and administration of subcontractors and suppliers, as well as the preparation and administration of claims under the Head Contract.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the administration of commercial aspects of subcontractor arrangements, ensuring strict compliance with established contractual arrangements, including:
Review and approve progress claims in conjunction with the Construction Manager and Site Supervisors.
Chair and facilitate weekly meetings to review project progress and address contractual issues.
Lead negotiations and finalize outcomes of variations, delays, and other subcontractor contractual claims, ensuring optimal outcomes while adhering to contractual obligations and acting reasonably.
Oversee the valuation of completed work and approval of payments.
Provide high-level support to project personnel in establishing subcontractor arrangements, including the vetting and letting of subcontracts.
Ensure special conditions of contract are aligned with Contract obligations and safeguard the Company's interests.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Supervisors to monitor project performance, identifying and addressing areas for variation or delay claims.
Administering the Project Work Orders, ensuring comprehensive compliance with commercial and legal requirements as defined in the agreement.
Ensure all notices, correspondence, and commercial requirements of the Head Contract are met.
Provide expert commercial and legal (contractual) support to all project personnel in executing their duties.
Assist with commercial administration on other projects as necessary, providing senior-level oversight and guidance.
Leadership and Development:
Manage and provide coaching to junior contract administrators, site administrators.
Mentor project personnel, fostering professional growth and development.
Ensure continuous improvement in contract administration processes and practices.
Lead initiatives to enhance contract management systems and tools, implementing best practices and innovations.
About You:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in either engineering, technical, project management or a related discipline
Minimum of 7 years site post graduate experience in contracts administration within the construction industry or other industries as pertinent.
Several years working in an administrative role and previous experience in financial reporting and budgeting.
Knowledgably in contract & project administration and reporting
