Working across 3 of our corporate partners in Sydney, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Associate to join a close knit, and highly collaborative team. You will work on a broad variety of complex matters, with an enviable list of high-profile clients. Examples of some of the market leading matters the group has worked on recently include: Acting on one of Australia's largest ever forestry deals for consortium comprised of UniSuper, Pension Protection Fund and APG Asset Management N.V. on behalf of ABP on the acquisition of Forico Pty Limited and a 170,000-hectare plantation forestry estate in Tasmania, held by a New Forests managed fund - Tasmanian Forest Trust Acting for The GPT Group, Unisuper, and Cbus Property on the transfer of the management of AMP Capital Retail Trust (now Australian Core Retail Trust) and the property management of one of its core assets, the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. Advising ENEOS (Japan) and ENEOS Green Hydrogen (Australia) on the Bulwer Island Green Hydrogen Plant project. The demonstration plant is the first project supported by the Japanese government's US$17 billion Green Innovation Fund, dedicated to helping the nation reach net-zero emissions by 2050. This is a landmark project for ENEOS in its focus on sustainable development and places the Japanese energy powerhouse at the forefront and cutting edge of renewable energy transition. Acting for ESR Group on a partnership with Solar Bay to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy infrastructure across ESR-managed assets nationally, a partnership forecast to deploy up to A$500 million over the next decade to provide renewable energy solutions for ESR Australia's customers, via the installation of up to 50 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity, 300MWh of battery storage and Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Advising CBA on the sale of its digital bank TYME to CBA's joint venture partner. Responsibilities Advising a variety of clients across a broad range of sectors including financial services, technology, consumer markets, tourism and leisure, mining, oil and gas, renewables and power Advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, capital raisings, W&I insurance, buyouts, rollups, international expansion and market entry, governance and commercial law Due diligence and drafting/negotiating documents for complex commercial transactions Actively participate in business development and marketing initiatives Requirements 2 years' PQE gained within a corporate and commercial practice in an international or top tier law firm A strong desire to work on high profile, complex transactions. Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills Exceptional client liaison skills and acute commercial acumen are considered essential The successful candidate will need to be an energetic, driven and focused individual with a strong work ethic and a collaborative attitude.
