The Perinatal and Women's Mental Health Service at Royal Hospital for Women seeks a Staff Specialist – Perinatal Psychiatry and/or Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry in Women's Mental Health.
This is an exciting opportunity for committed individual to broaden their experience in Perinatal Psychiatry and Women's Mental Health at a leading women's hospital.
The RHW is a tertiary teaching hospital providing state-wide Maternity, Gynaecology, Gynaecology-Oncology, Endo-Gynaecology, Fertility (including IVF), Newborn Care Services and Mental Health Services. The Perinatal and Women's Mental Health Service consists of a small number of part-time psychiatrists, a mental health Clinical Midwife Consultant, clinical psychologist, outreach mental health clinician and a psychiatry Registrar. It works closely with the RHW Maternity, Social Work, Newborn Care and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Departments and liaises closely with the ESMHS PIMHS team, and community agencies.
The position is located at Royal Hospital for Women. The successful candidate will be appointed at 0.4 FTE.
The applicant must be dedicated to a teamwork philosophy and be able to demonstrate their ability to work as a team member within the facility.
The successful candidate(s) may be eligible for a conjoint appointment to the Prince of Wales Clinical School with the UNSW Faculty of Medicine. The level of the appointment will be determined by qualifications and experience.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with Public Hospital (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination or Staff Specialists (State) Award.

The specialist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service.
The primary location of this position may be varied as agreed with the Director of Medical Services and as approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD.

All applications must include a demonstration of your ability to meet each of the selection criteria in order to progress through the recruitment process.
* Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA). Candidate to provide AHPRA Registration Number on application.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatry and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1973 and the relevant Award/Determination.
* Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
* Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high quality service in perinatal psychiatry and/or women's mental health and/or consultation-liaison psychiatry, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty.
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and post graduate students and other staff of the hospital.
* Demonstrated currency of practice at a consultant level in Perinatal and Women's Psychiatry and/or Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry with knowledge of child protection legislation.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team across multiple sites. Demonstrated commitment to provision of a high standard of clinical care in the public sector setting.
