**Database Administrator**
**Background**:
The administrator will be required to support existing systems and processes while also providing strategic input in the areas of:
- Database Design
- Performance Optimization
- Business Continuity
- Integration with other Core Systems
**Role**:
The principal duties of the Database Administrator include, but are not limited to:
- Installing
- Upgrading
- Managing Databases
- All of the above, within the client estate
- Optimizing Security
- Performance Tuning
- Reporting
**Required Skills & Competencies**:
- Proven expertise in the area of SQL DBA: Minimum of 5 years' experience
- Proven experience of setting up, managing, and monitoring replicated SQL databases
- Excellent knowledge of database security, backup and recovery and performance monitoring standards
- Ability to ensure business continuity in terms of database replication, backup and recovery
- PowerShell scripting skills
- Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
- Experience creating stored procedures, views and functions
- Proficient in database optimization, monitoring
- Good working knowledge of multiple database types / providers
- Proven ability in the diagnoses and troubleshooting of database errors
