Currently we’rein the top 30 construction companies globally.Please note that this role is site-based and fixed term (approx. 20 months), requiring you to be present at the Geelong project site.The Role :As Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in executing our health and safety strategy, offering HSE guidance, advice, training, and support to our employees and subcontractors on project. This role is fixed term ; extending across the project lifespan (approx. 20 months).Key aspects of this role include:Foster and promote a robust safety cultureMaintain a consistent onsite presence at our construction projects, engaging with staff and subcontractors through inspections, audits, and real-time coaching to exemplify safety practices.Mitigate risks and avert injuries by concentrating on high-risk work activities and ensuring adherence to safety compliance, thereby upholding our minimum standards at all times.Stay informed about health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance in accordance with applicable state and national regulations, possessing comprehensive knowledge of safety compliance requirements.Develop, implement, and regularly update project-specific HSE plans and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for high-risk or high-value projects. Engage with regulatory bodies regarding HSE regulations and compliance matters.Ensure a uniform risk management strategy is applied across all business units, aligned with our safety management system, to simplify safety processes.Oversee the HSE induction and onboarding procedures for new internal personnel, which includes HSE communications and toolbox discussions. Offer guidance on HSE-related issues as they arise, adhering to our company’s framework and safety management system.Address incidents and emergencies, including conducting investigations, reporting findings, and escalating issues as necessary.Monitor safety compliance through effective safety systems and technology, focusing on both leading and lagging indicators.Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Health & Safety Manager and Site Managers/Supervisors, including monthly reporting and contributions to strategic initiatives and projects.The competencies we seek for this role are:Minimum of +5 years industry experience (ideally within the Infrastructure and/or Utilities industries)Competent use of technology and safety systems / technology (experience with Hammertech desirable)Ability to build strong relationships with internal & external stakeholdersExcellent organisational skills & attention to detailAbility to manage multiple / competing priorities & make quick decisionsProblem solving & process implementation skillsAbility to analyse & interpret data, laws & regulationsWhat's in it for you:Gain experience working for a global construction company (listed within the top 30 worldwide)Access to flexible work arrangementsA competitive remuneration packageAccess to employee assistance program for employees and familiesFCC are dedicated to fostering a gender-equitable team and cultivating a culture that mirrors the diversity of the communities we serve.
