Healthy Food Specialist

The role of a Healthy Food Specialist is to create and implement healthy menus for children of all ages. This involves preparing, implementing, and evaluating the nutritional content of meals, as well as catering for individual child requirements including allergies and specific dietary needs.

* Play an active part in creating healthy menus that meet the nutritional needs of children
\
* Have access to a national network of centre cooks who regularly share recipes, ideas, and tips
\
* Be encouraged to utilise the amazing Feed Australia program, which enables cooks to plan, budget, and access healthy menus to support children's growth and development
\
* Cater for individual child requirements, including allergies and specific dietary needs
\
* Participate in early educational opportunities by sharing in lessons and family events
\
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
\
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals
\
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with parents and caregivers
\
* Stay up-to-date with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation

Requirements
\
\
* Current Food Safety and Handlers Certificate
\
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (desirable)
\
* Experience in an early childhood setting
\
* Reliable transport to and from the centre
\
* Current first aid certificate, including asthma and anaphylactic training, and resuscitation certificate
\
