About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability, you will provide technical integrity support and sustainable solutions for the broader operations and engineering community Olympic Dam. You will ensure compliance to all relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
This role will be site based at Olympic Dam on a 5/2/4/3 Roster. FIFO or residential available.
In this role you will:
- Lead, coach and support the Integrity team to optimise maintenance strategies for critical equipment and improve plant integrity.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety by actively engaging in time in field & Field Leadership.
- Builds and maintains internal and external relationships with execution and functional teams.
- Coaches understanding and application of Maintenance & Asset Integrity processes within the team.
- Review and analysis inspection reports and fixed plant maintenance strategies and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Advise on repair, remediation and mitigation methodologies for damage mechanisms.
- Conduct thorough problem solving and investigations into plant performance issues and implements sustainable solutions.
- Exercise a proficient level of technical knowledge and expertise to independently make informed decisions and provide integrity engineering support.
- Improve the performance and capability of the fixed plant equipment, through leadership of technical personnel in engineering disciplines and reliable decision making.
- Contribute to the development of the site's five year capital and operational budgets.
- Identify and assess risks using our risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture.
- Drives a continuous improvement mind-set by actively identifying, developing, and delivering improvement opportunities and initiatives.
- Conducts routine performance and development discussions with direct reports.
- Supports site shutdowns through scope development, reviews, executions and verification.
- Coordinates and manages responsible team to balance capacity and demand.
- Assist superintendent with recruiting and onboarding.
- Ensure Safety, Constructability, Operability and Maintainability is preserved throughout the design lifecycle process.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
- Demonstrated background in Reliability or Asset Integrity engineering with a focus on providing maintenance support and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
- Previous experience leading teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
- Highly engaged, collaborative and committed to building mutually beneficial relationships across functional teams.
- Have an understanding of the Olympic Dam processes, engineering principles, standards, and process.
- Have robust operating discipline and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in BHP systems including SAP, work management and the BHP Operating System will be an advantage.
- Experience identifying risks, conducting risk analysis, risk prioritisation and controls to monitor and manage risks to enable the achievement of project outcomes.
