Over the past two years, Cougar has experienced significant growth, bigger contracts, bigger numbers, and a stronger balance sheet. Now, it’s time for the finance function to step up and support what’s next.
To support this momentum, they have created a brand-new role - Head of FP&A and Treasury. This role will lead long-range financial planning, performance reporting, scenario modelling, and cash management across the group.
YOUR NEW ROLE
This role puts you at the heart of strategy, planning, and performance. You will help Cougar plan where it’s going financially and give leaders the insights they need to make smart, confident decisions. From building Cougar’s long-range financial plan to leading the 3-way model, guiding scenario planning, managing treasury, and partnering directly with the CEO, COO, and CFO, leaders who want real insight, not just reports.
It’s a hands-on, strategic role where you will look ahead with budgets and forecasts, keep a close eye on performance through reporting and analysis, and make sure the business is optimising the use of its capital through strong cashflow and investment planning.
Planning & Forecasting
* Develop and maintain the long-range financial plan and annual budget processes
* Lead a fully integrated 3-way model (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow) across multiple entities
* Build a rolling forecast and scenario planning framework
* Collaborate with the Commercial Manager and department heads to embed financial assumptions aligned with strategic objectives
Performance Reporting
* Oversee preparation of monthly board packs and internal performance dashboards
* Provide variance analysis and performance commentary
* Ensure consistency and accuracy of actuals vs forecast reporting across the group
Treasury Management
* Take over operational and administrative oversight of treasury
* Build cashflow models and mid-term funding plans
* Track debt maturities and equipment financing schedules
* Be the key liaison with financial partners
* Support new asset purchases with capital management planning and documentation
Business Partnering
* Partner with CEO, COO, and CFO on strategic planning
* Support integration of finance with supply chain and operations through consistent planning
* Assist in M&A integration modelling and capital allocation strategies
Leadership
* Manage and develop FP&A Analyst, a strong data and modelling talent
ABOUT YOU….
You are commercially curious, strategic, and love the numbers, but only because they tell a story. You don’t take assumptions at face value. You dig, model, challenge, and bring clarity to grey areas. You’ve probably worked in industries like mining, manufacturing, or construction. And you’re ready for a role that finally lets you operate at the level you’re capable of.
* CA/CPA qualification
* 5+ years in FP&A, commercial finance, or strategic reporting
* Advanced Excel modelling skills
* Experience working with execs and producing board-level reporting
