About the role
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with a NV2 clearance to develop, build, configure, maintain, and document key components of a Defence stand-alone network for implementation into a production environment Under direction from the Project Manager and Solutions Architect.
About you
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Assist in the development and maintenance of a Defence stand-alone network, including:
o Network support, maintenance, and troubleshooting,
o leading design, build, test and configuration activities for new and existing network elements in an agile-like environment,
o Development of Build Instructions, detailed designs (including network specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture),
* Conduct work in accordance with the Project AGILE Methodology, including maintaining JIRA and participating in stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning and retrospectives.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated skills and experience in:
o Essential:
* Data Centre Architecture – Network, Compute, Storage and Network Services,
* Network Engineering (Cisco Enterprise Networking including WAN, LAN, and Data Centre),
* Software Defined Networking,
* Network and Network Security Design,
* Micro-segmentation
* CISCO & Juniper networking
o Highly Desirable:
* Knowledge of Storage solutions and VMware Cloud Foundation or VSphere,
* Knowledge of Cisco ACI and VMware NSX-T,
* Knowledge of DMVPN, Juniper networking, JUNOS,
* Disaster Recovery and active-active data centre,
* Management network design and management tools.
o Desirable:
* Firewall rulesets,
* Familiarity with ITIL v3/v4 frameworks,
* Windows Server 2016/2019 (working knowledge).
* Ability to maintain security awareness and implement security best practices.
* Experience working in Network Operation Centre environment,
* Experience in an AGILE development environment.
* Experience in developing Detailed Designs.
* Experience in developing Build Instructions (BIs).
* Ability to work well in a team environment, communicate effectively with technical leads & project management and meet project deadlines.
* Ability to learn new concepts and skillsets and improve upon existing technical knowledge.
* Ability to conduct research, as well as rapidly learn new concepts and tasks, with a view of improving technical knowledge and skills.
* Above average troubleshooting skills.
Education and Experience:
* 5 to 10 years minimum network experience in industry and Defence
* CCNP or CCIE level skills. Certifications will be highly regarded but are not essential.
