St Margaret's Berwick Grammar is seeking a caring and motivated Learning Assistant to join our Inclusive Education Team. This role supports students with diverse learning needs to thrive within the classroom and develop confidence and independence in their learning.
This is an ongoing Full-time (term time) position, primarily based at our Officer Campus.
About the Role
Working closely with classroom teachers and the Inclusive Education team, you will support students with their learning within mainstream classes and, where appropriate, in small group or individual settings.
Your role will focus on encouraging engagement, assisting with classroom tasks, and helping students build organisational skills and independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students with learning tasks within the classroom
* Assist students through guidance, prompting and encouragement
* Monitor engagement and help students stay on task
* Work collaboratively with teachers and the Inclusive Education team
* Support the implementation of student learning plans
* Maintain brief records of student support provided
About You
You will bring:
* A passion for supporting students and inclusive education
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive and flexible approach to working in a school environment
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Requirements
* Certificate in School-Based Education Support (or equivalent)
* First Aid (Level 2) and Anaphylaxis training
* Current Working with Children Check
* National Police Check
