As a tertiary referral hospital, Medical Imaging at the Townsville University Hospital is a vital clinical service. The professional, patient-focussed team in Medical Imaging provide an efficient, high-quality diagnostic imaging service to the North Queensland community. Our team is committed to continual improvement through education, research, and systematic enhancements.
The Medical Imaging Department is organised into six clinical modalities/teams:
General X-ray
CT scanning
MRI
Ultrasound
Nuclear medicine and PET
Interventional radiology and procedures
Each area is coordinated by specialist radiographers, nurses, and radiologists, supported by our operational and administrative staff.

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
Salary range: $39.98 - $44.46 p.h. (AO3)
4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity
Deliver exceptional person-centred customer service to patients, their families, and the public, assisting and directing patients, visitors, and colleagues in an effective and courteous manner.
Build good relationships with patients, their families and work colleagues by using strong communication and negotiation skills to understand customers' needs and deliver a service that meets their needs with adherence to policy and standards.
Access and utilise a wide variety of relevant patient and corporate information systems to accurately record all demographic and other mandatory patient information relative to work environment.
Maintain a high level of proficiency of relevant patient intake, admissions, bookings, and discharge models to achieve effective and efficient patient flow by maintaining knowledge of and adhering to standardised health administration processes specific to the clinical working environment of the role.
