Our client is seeking a Safety coordinator who will report to the Manager Safety. The role provides support and advice to frontline employees and contractors whilst managing work, health and safety risks.
Key duties include:
- Research and provide advice, liaison and support on WHS.
- Facilitate, coordinate and monitor incident investigations, hazard controls, WHS inspections and audits.
- Review and analyse WHS performance data and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and provide training, information and WHS inductions.
- Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and improvement of Fremantle Ports' WHS management systems.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum C Class Drivers' Licence.
- Tertiary qualifications in safety management or evidence of a similar level of knowledge/experience.
- Demonstrated heavy industry safety management experience.
- Experience in the development, implementation, and improvement of WHS management systems.
- Ability to develop and implement WHS risk management strategies aligned with relevant WHS standards and legislation.
- Ability to communicate and work co-operatively with others including contractors and third parties.
- Highly self-motivated with ability to work without close supervision.
