This is a unique leadership opportunity for a senior executive with a deep understanding of the Australian energy transition, offshore wind development, and government engagement to establish and grow a major international player's presence across the country.
The Role
The Country Manager will lead strategy, business development, and stakeholder engagement in Australia, acting as the key bridge between global headquarters and the local market. The role will be central to building government and industry relationships, shaping market entry strategies, and securing commercial opportunities in the offshore wind sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a localized strategy in line with Australia's energy transition goals, positioning the business for long-term success.
* Market Development: Drive business expansion in offshore wind, including monopiles, foundations, and emerging technologies.
* Government Relations: Build and maintain strong connections with state and federal governments, industry associations, and key stakeholders to support policy engagement and local content compliance.
* Commercial Growth: Support HQ with research, reporting, and deal execution, while securing contracts and building a trusted customer base.
* Operations & Partnerships: Develop local supply chain collaboration, from component manufacturing to logistics, to enhance competitiveness in Australia.
* Cross-Cultural Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Australian team, while fostering alignment between local operations and international leadership.
About You
* 15+ years of senior-level experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or related sectors, with a strong track record in offshore wind or large-scale energy projects.
* Proven expertise in government relations, industry networking, and stakeholder management at both state and federal levels.
* Deep understanding of Australia's energy transition policies, regulatory frameworks, and offshore wind market dynamics.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in transactions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
* Exceptional leadership and cross-cultural management skills, with the ability to balance HQ expectations and local execution.
* Based in Australia, with flexibility to travel domestically and internationally.
